Posted April 4th, 2011 in Poker by author

Rakeback plays an important part in selecting what poker sites to play at for many professional online poker players. What exactly is rakeback? Rakeback is essentially a comp program. The more you play, the more benefits you receive. At times the rewards will be in cash added into your account.

The PokerStars rakeback program is known as Frequent Player Points (FPPs). FPPs are usually received playing in cash games and tournaments. When player earns enough FPPs, they are signed up for the PokerStars VIP Club. Once a member of the VIP Club, players start earning VIP Player Points (VPPs). VIP Club members have access to special merchandise and special tournaments. Most of the prizes are provided by affiliates of PokerStars. This allows for better cross marketing and lets PokerStars to provide players more diverse rewards through it’s poker rakeback plan.

The Full Tilt Rakeback program uses badges. Each and every hand played gets Full Tilt Points. The player will obtain badges depending on the number points the player earns. These badges will be displayed on the players avatar. This is a great way for players to display their achievements. A lot of the badges require a certain number of points be earned in a limited amount of time. Points will not disappear after a set amount of time either so, they could be exchanged for goods, entry into tournaments or converted into cash that could be deposited into the player’s poker account. Full Tilt tweets their badge program often. New objectives and incentives will be included. This encourages players to return and play at Fult Tilt tables more regularly.
